
Ramona Kiyoshk is a
semi-retired
journalist.
She has worked as a feature writer, magazine columnist, travel writer, books editor
and copy editor/fact checker in Canada and the United States.
While
managing
a challenging career, she raised two offspring and their various dogs, cats, rodents and a pygmy goat.
From 2004 to 2009, Ramona worked in
Jupiter, Florida, as a property manager, pet-sitter, dog-walker, house-sitter
and chauffeur.
During that time, she also reviewed books and wrote features for the Seminole
Tribune.
More
recently, she worked at non-profit contracts in Toronto, as a Communications
Officer, Pow Wow organizer, event planner/promoter, and life coach.
Ramona was an
Athena
Award runner-up, a recipient of a
Canada Council Grant
and
served as a judge for the
Arizona Authors
Association's annual literary contest. In 1992, she was awarded an Honorary
Arizona National Guard membership for community service through her writing.

Ramona has logged many volunteer hours, as a speaker, driver, fund-raiser, administrative
assistant, track and field coach, Career Day organizer and presenter, events
organizer and marketer. She volunteered with the
Florida Trail (hiking club)
as a hurricane clean-up team member, and served in various performing arts venues.
One of her memorable
volunteer stints was at the
Loggerhead
Marinelife Centre, a sea turtle rescue and rehab facility in Juno Beach,
Florida, where she blogged the daily results of the lone cyclist for the
"Cycling for Sea Turtles" fund-raiser.
She is an avid hiker, outdoors enthusiast
and passionate animal rights advocate.
Ramona currently
lives and works in Toronto, Canada.
